Hello guys an gals!
In this post, the classic meets the modern! This red skirt from Forever 21 is just adorable; it makes me feel like a 1950's housewife (but without most of the oppression and assumed gender roles.) The fabric is quite heavy, so the classic pleats flow nicely and give the skirt a defined shape, which is always a risk when buying and wearing this cut of skirt.
This black crop top from Asos has an asymmetrical cut and cutouts, and can be worn with pretty much anything as a stylish alternative to a plain black tee. With this outfit it serves as a lovely contrast to the retro-inspired skirt, and creates a fun, flirty, yet still work and family-gathering appropriate party look!
The shoes are a closet staple, a MUST HAVE for every woman's wardrobe. They were also my grandmother's go-to shoe (what can I say, good style runs in the family!) You can find a nearly identical shoe at Sam Edelman!
I finished off this look with some strands of pearls and a Betsy Johnson bag, which can be worn with a strap or used as a clutch. It's perfect for fitting your party necessities; keys, cellphone, ID, and lipstick!
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed this look!

Love, ~CC~
